Whew! Glad that's over!

WELL OVER A HALF A CENTURY HAS PAST SINCE MOM SURELY SAID THOSE WORDS! IMAGINE GOING FROM A FAMILY OF THREE KIDS ( RICH- ONE MONTH SHORT OF 9YRS OLD, KATHY- JUST 7YRS OLD THE MONTH BEFORE AND KAY- ONLY 2YRS OLD THE MONTH BEFORE) TO A FAMILY OF FIVE CHILDREN WHEN SHERYL AND I WERE BORN! "THE TWINS" WERE NOT YOUR TINY TWIN SIZE BABIES OF TODAY. MOM SAID SHE LOOKED 3 MONTHS WHEN SHE WAS ONLY 6 WKS ALONG! WE WERE SURELY FULL TERM AS I WEIGHED 6 LBS. 1 OZ. & SHERYL WEIGHED A FULL 7LBS! CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT A LOAD THAT WAS? AND OF COURSE, IT WAS NOT A CESEAREAN (sp) BIRTH! MOM SAID WHEN I WAS BORN THEY SAID, "OH LOOK AT THAT LITTLE PINK FOOT". PERHAPS THERE WAS NO ROOM TO TURN AROUND AND MAKE A PROPER ENTRANCE BUT I ALWAYS SUSPECTED A PUSH FROM SHERYL! HOW BLESSED WE WERE TO BE BORN INTO THIS WARM AND LOVING FAMILY WITH PARENTS WHO WERE TRULY GOOD PEOPLE. MAY THE BLESSINGS OF THEIR LOVE OF GOD AND THIS FAMILY CONTINUE TO FLOW THRU OUR LIVES!

25 !

The doctor took 25 stitches out of my arm today.  Ouch, did they pull.  I start physical therapy on Monday.

The Gospel According to Scrooge starts tomorrow, Saturday 12/11.  Door opens at 6pm.  Also on Sunday 12/12.  Then next week, it will be Friday 12/17, Sat 12/18 and Sunday 12/19.

Free admission, beautiful sets and music.  You'll definitely get into the Christmas spirit.  And, as usual, makeup directed by yours truly.

I love my family,  Denise

surgery update - Denise

Some of you know I had surgery weds 12/1.  In my left arm, the dr moved the ulnar (funny bone) nerve to the inside of my arm.  He also did carpal tunnel fix on the left wrist.

Tomorrow sutures come out and I'll let you know how it goes.  Looking forward to typing with 2 hands.

Noah and other news

I am sorry it took me so long to update you on Noah, but we decided (somewhat irrationally) to get a dog last Sunday, and while we love him very much, he is one more baby for me to take care of right now so I haven't had as much free time as I'd like to.
Noah went for his follow up x-ray and the pneumonia is gone, thank you for all of your prayers for him! The doc did agree with me that he should be seen by a pulmonologist, and wanted us to see one in the group at Akron Children's. This made me very happy because I had asked Robin, one of the respiratory therapists at work (aka "respies") about his condition and who she thought was a good doctor. She recommended a pediatric pulmonologist because of the variances between adult and child lung issues. So, for now (knock on wood) everyone in the Riedman household is well.
Now on to other news: This is Noah holding our new puppy.
The boys have named him "Howie" and he has been a Riedman boy for only 1 week. He is a three month old Beagabull (that means half beagle, half english bulldog) Unfortunately, I am hopelessly outnumbered by boys now, but we really love our little Howie! The boys have been waiting a long time to get a dog!

all the way from sunny Arizona

I don't think we've had better weather than this visit.  Diana, Rod and the girls were home all week long.  They start back to work and school tomorrow.  So we have had lovely lazy bonding time.

Did my first grocery store visit in a store scooter.  Not the best driver.  Sometimes went backwards instead of forwards.  Hit a few racks but no people, so I think that's a success.

Seeing a surgeon Tuesday Nov 23.  Pray please that he'll be the right guy.  I only have 2 fingers now that work completely right.  So, definitely need a great nerve and carpal tunnel fixer.

Be back soon.  Love everybody.  Denise
